Our bees
If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left..
Albert Einstein, 1921
All wise people try to act responsibly in regards to the environment. They save nonrenewable energy sources, reduce emissions, recycle materials, protect our forests…it’s an ideal we should all strive for and, naturally, the company TechPlasty is not an exception. We are trying not to fall behind in protecting the environment. We’ve built a photovoltaic system on the roof of our building, we use an economical heat pump for heating, we gather rainwater and utilise it to irrigate our roof greenery and “green frontage” we have introduced a “paper-free” office, we have exchanged all computers for more economic ones with low usage, we try to utilise even the smallest chippings of technic plastics and not reject them as garbage. However, we try to do more for our community than “only” saving energies and sorting rubbish. Considering we always strive to do things better and not settle for what others do, we have decided to raise bees on our company’s rooftop.
Why bees ?
1, Bees pollinate plants - thanks to bees we have fruit, vegetables and other animals have nourishment
2. BIO products from bees - products which bees “manufacture” are very important for humans. Consider honey and vax.
3. Bees are dying out - genetically modified plants, climate change, pesticides and modern methods of soil management are all reasons for why bees are dying out.
Our bees
Our bees live in wooden apiaries on the rooftop of the company building located close to the center of Žilina. Beside flowers and trees in the nearby park, they have an allotment zone close to them, in which there are numerous agricultural crops, bushes and fruit trees. Another considerable source of nourishment for our bees is the dense, mixed conifer, predominantly spruce forest. Many of us care for our bees. No one among us has previously been a beekeeper. We are learning on the job according to accessible sources and from our own mistakes. We enjoy it and take immense joy out of it. Hereby, to learn more about our bees, to understand them better, we have decided to place a camera in front of one of the bee-houses. Looking at the beehouse on a nice spring day is fascinating. So many stories; arrival of an alien from another hive, an ant on the landing platform, bees with a haul so great they cannot walk normally. If you feel like it and have some time, observe. Please, enjoy.

Where can you buy honey from our bees ?
Honey and other bee products, which are courtesy of our bees, are not for sale. We have decided that similarly to our bees giving them to us altruistically, we cannot take money for them. Consequently, you cannot buy honey from us, but we can gift it to you. We will give out honey to our friends, acquaintances and sympathizers free of charge. Well, almost free. We urge those of you who will get our honey as a gift to also gift someone from your community something you have grown, raised or made yourselves. If more of us start doing this, then our world will become a better place for the life of our children.
